The YMCA Outdoor Activity Centre is located on the West Berkshire/Hampshire border in Padworth.
Situated within the woodland of the Englefield Estate, the site covers an area of 2.77 acres/1.12 hectares.
The facility comprises of the main building, large field, and woodland areas, with a fire pit at the front of the building and a pizza oven to the rear.
We now have an outdoor classroom, an ideal learning space, perfect for observing the wildlife.

The Cabin itself sleeps 18 people across 3 bedrooms, 2 people in 1 bunk in the Leaders room, 8 people in 4 bunk beds in one bedroom and a further 8 people in the 3rd bedroom consisting of 4 bunks. There are 3 bathrooms, male, female and leaders bathroom – all bathrooms have showers.
There is a hall with table and chairs along with a fully function and stocked kitchen. Here you will find all the apparatus you need to feed your guests.
Outside we have a fire pit and a pizza oven. You will need to bring your own wood for each.
There is also ample room on the field for additional tents.
You will need to provide your own bedding and towels etc.
Please note we do not have a telephone or Wifi on site – a true break from the modern world!

The centre is available for private hire throughout the year by youth groups, Scout and Guide groups, private parties, filming locations, corporate team building days, one-off events, or overnight camping.

As a non profit charity we aim to keep our rates fair, for this reason we have not increased them since August 2022. We also do not offer a charity discount enabling us to support our residents to the very best of our abilities.
