Are you aged 18-25 and single? Not living in permanent accommodation?
YMCA Reading offers safe, secure and affordable accommodation for young homeless people with a local connection to Reading.
We can help you access housing benefit to pay for your stay, and you can stay for between 1-2 years.
The scheme consists of 40 units of accommodation all with access to free Wi-Fi.
We offer much more than just a place to stay. YMCA Reading is a community, a place where young people feel safe and valued, a place to make friends and build trust whilst gaining independent living skills.
We are open 24/7 for 365 days a year. Housing and Support Staff are available from 08:00-21:00 and a night support staff member is on duty for security and concierge purposes form 21:30-08:00.
We offer real opportunities for young people to get involved in the running of the service. Residents’ Meetings are a great opportunity to meet other residents, have a voice and get involved or become a Residents’ Representative and liaise with staff on any current concerns in your community, as well as helping us devise a program of activities through the year.
Reading Borough Council have 100% nomination rights for the scheme.
